Important NEC Considerations

Table 310.16 (310.15(B)(16)): Allowable ampacities of insulated conductors rated up to and including 2000V, not more than three current-carrying conductors in raceway, cable, or earth.

Temperature Correction: Apply correction factors from Table 310.15(B)(2)(a) for ambient temperatures other than 30°C (86°F).

Adjustment Factors: Apply adjustment factors from Table 310.15(B)(3)(a) when more than three current-carrying conductors are in raceway or cable.

Continuous Loads: Size conductors at 125% of continuous loads per NEC 210.19(A)(1).

Voltage Drop: NEC recommends maximum 3% voltage drop on branch circuits and 2% on feeders (5% total).

Termination Ratings: Check equipment termination temperature ratings. Most equipment is rated for 75°C.
